All around Skyrim, and other places, are various ancient tomes and scrolls containing powerful magical properties. As a representative to the College of Winterhold and a friend to Urag gro-Shub, we ask that you mighty adventurers and seekers of archaic knowledge might be able to oblige us and acquire certain...ah...artifacts, shall we say, to procure within the College and keep them out of the hands of the wicked, and so we might study and learn from them further. Enough of my incessant rambling, though. You did not come here to listen to the words of Fimvul, but to seek arcane might.

You can access the other Roleplayer's Resources here:

The Hitman's Hideout

The Templar's Chapel

The Guardsman's Barracks

Welcome to...

The Scholar's Archive

There are numerous tomes, scrolls, and fonts of hidden knowledge scattered around Skyrim's frozen tundras. Urag gro-Shub and other members of the College of Winterhold constantly have different needs and desires, each clamoring for various legendary secrets to further their individual goals. As their representative, I, Fimvul, will do my best to mete out each requirement by requesting they be found and taken to the College of Winterhold. You will, of course, be compensated, handsomely. There are, however, a few guidelines which I probably should go over before you undertake these monotonous but noble quests, so to speak.

In order to accept and embark upon one of these Quests for Knowledge, shall we say, you must first bend to a set of rules and restrictions. Some of these tasks will have more specific additional rules, but all will fall under four basic and simple guidelines you must keep in mind.

Rule 1.) To embark upon a new task, you must first report to the College of Winterhold and speak to the Scholar for whom this quest is tailored. (Example: if you are attempting to find a book for Urag gro-Shub, you must speak to Urag gro-Shub and learn of its location before you are allowed to search for the book.)

Rule 2.) To embark upon a new task, you must first either finish OR abandon your current task. You cannot undertake more than one task at the same time. (Example: If you wish to find/turn-in one of the Ancient Falmer Tomes for Urag gro-Shub but are already searching for one of Shalidor's Insights for Urag gro-Shub, you cannot turn in the Ancient Falmer Tomes until you have found and turned-in the work of Shalidor.)

Rule 3.) To receive your reward for a completed task, you must upload a screenshot of your completion of the task. Each task has its own rewards specific to the task itself. (Example: Upon fulfilling the Power of the Elements task for Faralda, you must screenshot either the completed quest in your journal or the Fire Storm Spell in your Spell List.)

Rule 4.) Some of the tasks will have difficulty rankings, indicating they may be more difficult to complete. As you complete tasks, you will earn Psijic Endeavor Points, which will rank up your level, allowing you to complete the more difficult tasks and earn better rewards. (Example: You just turned in the books The Last King of the Ayleids, The Night of Tears, and Fragment: On Artaeum and received 5 Psijic Endeavor Points, which ranks you up to Adept Scholar, which means you can now accept and undertake the mission to bring Urag the book Lost Legends and begin the quest Forbidden Legends and reassemble the Gauldur Amulet [Fimvul's Notes: If you use the mod "Immersive College of Winterhold, when you complete the quest, you can, to make it more immersive, place the Gauldur Amulet in one of the display cases, thereby concluding that Urag has collected it within the College, if you wish] and then return to Urag and submit your screenshot for your rewards.)

Now that you know the Rules and Guidelines covering the majority of these tasks, it might help to know from which members of the College you will be completing these tasks for:

Savos Aren

The current Arch-Mage, Savos Aren, has many tasks for you to undertake, though his tend to be of the more difficult variety, requiring you to delve into ancient tombs and ruins to procure his requested item(s). These whispers come from anonymous sources and you must have achieved at least the first Psijic Rank in order to undertake any of theses tasks. Each task has its own difficulties and requirements, and its own backgrounds beyond the obvious. Complete these for much greater rewards than any other task.

Now, you may be wondering how/where do I start? It's simple.

There are a few different ways. The easiest and most common way to become a Scholar and begin touring Skyrim to find these hidden troves of magic is, quite obviously, to simply join the College of Winterhold. Simply start and complete the quest First Lessons and you'll become a Scholar and have full access to The Scholar's Archive. A less common but still well-known method is to join The Lore Group. Here, you can undertake tasks from me, Fimvul, directly, and work around The Scholar's Archive. However, doing this bypasses the Psijic Endeavor Points, so all you'll receive are the basic rewards, so I don't recommend it unless you just want quick rewards and don't care about the nitty-gritty stuff. The only other way to become a Scholar and begin undertaking some of the tasks is to find a way into the College without starting the quest First Lessons, such as jumping up through the Midden underneath the College (it's tricky to get the angle right to hit the ledge, but it can be done). Using this method, there are still a few NPCs you can speak with and thus complete tasks for them, but you will be severely limited in what you're able to do, so this method is even less advisable unless you're trying to roleplay a character who doesn't want to study magic, but wants to surround himself with the knowledge of magic (it could happen, I guess, like an anti-mage warrior, or something; humor me here).

Now that we've gone over the Rules and Guidelines, the NPCs who may have tasks available to complete, and how to actually become a Scholar, let's get right into the good stuff.

As time progresses, old tasks - whether or not they are completed - will be removed and new ones will be added. Ones that are left unfinished may appear again on the board, but not necessarily. If you have already started a task and it is removed from the board before you complete it, you are still able to turn it in. Each task can be completed only once, but can be undertaken by multiple characters. This adds an air of competition, as the Scholar who is first to find whatever he seeks is the only one to receive rewards. There will ALWAYS be at least 3 basic tasks, as well as at least 3 more difficult tasks. Specifics rules, requirements, restrictions, and rewards will be displayed with each task, but be forewarned: some tasks might not specifically say for whom it is, so you may have to guess based on the item itself!

Before we actually get into the tasks themselves, let me explain a bit more on the Psijic Endeavor Points and the Psijic Ranks attached to each task.

The completion of a task gives you a predetermined amount of Psijic Endeavor Points, which, after acquiring enough, ranks your Scholar level - or Psijic Rank - up to the next level, allowing you to complete more tasks.

Psijic Ranks

1.)
Greetings, sera. Blackblood with something interesting. In the interest of making things a bit more interesting for the RP Group, I've come up with something I think will be fun for at least a few people. This is the Hitman's Hideout, a shadowy base for assassins, mercenaries, bounty hunters and everything in between. Here, various bounties are placed on the heads of various NPCs in Skyrim. Members of the site can take these bounties, complete them, and even earn money doing it!! So without further ado, let's head on in shall we?

Welcome to the Hitman's Hideout

Several NPCs in Skyrim are bound to have no shortage of enemies lurking around the corners. Not all of them are legitimate or legal, however, and the Dark Brotherhood has fallen to ruin as of late. Thus, a retired hitman has decided to put the heads of these misfortunate men and mer on paper for you, so that aspiring assassins and bounty hunters can ply their trade on them. People that you've always wanted to get paid to kill, people you never expected to have a hit placed on them, as well as people you probably didn't even know existed. All sorts of potential targets exist out there, and as long as two people exist in this hold, someone is going to want someone else dead.

- The Bounty Board
In this hideout, the bounties for a number of NPCs are placed, to be updated at the Bounty Master's leisure. The chosen can range from anyone insignificant like Lemkil, to someone incredibly influencial like Elenwen. Members can click on each bounty to see the specifications. They can then take their character, kill that NPC, then post a screenshot of the deed. If anyone wants to suggest someone to die, send me a PM and I'll put it on the backlist. All bounties are submitted anonymously, so no worries about being counter-targeted. Bounty hunters are only allowed to claim one bounty per wave of targets.

- Profiles and Conditions
The bounties are split into three different profiles:

Low Profile - Relatively easy to kill. Usually alone, or incredibly weak.
Med Profile - Notably difficult to kill. Either strong, or surrounded by powerful allies.
High Profile - Targets are exceptionally powerful/guarded, and their bounties will very likely involve special conditions. Some of these NPCs are essential in game, and will require the assistance of mods to take their life.

On each bounty, there may also be a set of conditions, certain things that must be done prior to, during or after the actual hit. They can range from necessary to mundane to nonsensical, but the submitted bounty will only be accepted if these conditions, if any, are also met.

- Hit Rankings
Once you've turned in a bounty, you will gain septims. The amount you gain will depend on the difficulty of the kill, the priority, and any extra conditions you may have to adhere to. Your total septim count will be recorded on the Hit Rankings, where the best hitmen are recorded.

Backstory

Unlike most Bosmer, Manurron was born in Skyrim during 4E 129. Him along with his family and uncle lived in a camp somewhere in Falkreath Hold. Although they lived out of Valenwood, the four still respected the deal made between his race and Y'ffre to an extent. The four mostly went out to hunt for their food instead of buying it or planting crops. They lived well for a while, but of course, not everything has a happy ending... It was a cold night in 4E 144 when his mother, Cerlinna gave birth to a beautiful Bosmer child - a girl. Manurron, his father and his uncle all gathered around Cerlinna with bright smiles on all of their face. Zelevar, the father of now two children, and Cerlinna decided that they will name the newborn tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. After that the four went to sleep. Manurron however woke up at some point during the night to hear something that he still remembers - shouting, a baby crying, and a woman begging for something. He went out and saw six bandits talking to his parents and his uncle, with the newborn in the hands of one of the bandits. Manurron was horrified. He noticed something though... his father's dagger was right next to his tent with drips of blood on it. He'd grab it and sneak behind one of the bandits, cutting his throat, but of course, the other five notice and surround Manurron. The Bandit holding the baby didn't seem too care about losing a man. In fact, the man smirked and did something that Manurron still dreams about. The Bandit revealed himself to be the leader of the group - a Nord named Marrel the Wolf. Looking at the baby, he tells Manurron that it's "An eye for an eye, a life for a life."... and would then stab the newborn, causing the mother to scream in agony - not of pain, but of sadness - she had lost almost all hope. Marrel commands the bandits to take anything valuable they find and kill the other elves. Manurron would be shocked to see one of the bandits lifting his mother up and holding a knife to her throat. However, by some miracle... an arrow would pierce the Bandit holding Manurron, allowing him to free himself from his grasp. He'd look to his uncle, who was able to catch the bandit near him off-guard and jump up, kicking him away. Verilier then charges at the bandit holding Cerlinna hostage, only to see how the bandit slits her throat before throwing the bleeding out elf away and stabbing Manurron's uncle in the left shoulder. Luckily, he was able to overpower the bandit and free himself from his grasp. Manurron's father jumps up and yells at him to run, which the elf does with tears in his eyes... looking back one last time, he'd see his uncle and father running away in different directions, his mother's lifeless corpse on the ground, and his still unnamed sister on the ground with a small pool of blood surrounding her. Before dissapearing into the woods, he'd hear Marrel's voice one more time, shouting at him, telling him that he will find him and end this... but Manurron decides that he will do the same and avenge his family.

To this day, Manurron still pursues Marrel and is still searching for his father and uncle.

TES Profile: Bronmir North-Windhttps://TheSkyForge.ning.com/groups/roleplaying/forum/tes-profile-bronmir-north-wind2018-01-27T20:27:15.000Z2018-01-27T20:27:15.000ZFimvul, the Psijic Loremasterhttps://TheSkyForge.ning.com/members/Fimvul

Name:

Bronmir North-Wind is the last surviving heir to the North-Wind Clan, a powerful family that served the emperor as advisors and bodyguards for centuries, with roots all the way back to Ysgramor and the Companions. Thirty years ago, when the Thalmor assaulted Cloud Ruler Temple and annihilated the Blades, they launched a similar offensive in the mountains of Winterhold, wiping out and burning down North-Wind Manor and all inside it. Only infant Bronmir and his mother were able to escape, making their way through Skyrim and into Bruma, in Cyrodiil. For a time, they stayed there under the pretense of a travelling merchant's widow and newborn son, while they waited for the aftereffects of the war to subside, before making their way into the Imperial City itself. Bronmir spent most of his youth and early adulthood in the Imperial City. His mother, using what gold she had left from the estate and what her connections could provide from her name, though she was careful, provided Bronmir with an education from Imperial tutors. At the tender age of eleven, she began teaching him about Lady Kyne and Talos. Around the same time, the strength of his arm was discovered and the Imperial Legion became interested in training and eventually recruiting him. Seven years later, shortly before he would be officially conducted into the Legion as an Auxiliary, his mother came down with Brain Fever. Despite their newfound wealth from the store his mother had set up, not even the best healers in the Imperial City could cure her. She died a few short months later. Bronmir, distraught, left the Legion and took up the store after taking care of his mother. Three years passed when Bronmir discovered a tattered journal among his mother's possessions. Though it was worn and dated, he was able to decipher enough of it to determine his lineage as a North-Wind, whom he heard about from Legionnaires. Determined to find the truth of his heritage, he closed the store, packed up a few possessions, and left for Skyrim. Along his path to Winterhold, he encounted many hardships that tuned his instincts as a warrior. When he finally reached Winterhold the following year, he was a hardened warrior, but he was unable to find evidence of North-Wind Manor having existed. To pass the time, he began studying restoration magic - something he had become interested in during the time of his mother's sickness; he thought he could service himself as a healer, and desired to be even better than those in the Imperial City - and it was here his distaste of Daedra and the Undead festered. After two years, he mastered Restoration, and left the College, seeking his fortune as a Holy Paladin, before eventually joining the Vigilants of Stendarr. Sometime during his time with them, he located North-Wind Manor, and discovered the truth about his family. Deciding his time would be best spent serving the people of Skyrim, he wandered the wilderness, offering healing and protection where he could. He had several dealings with the Companions, believing them to be righteous and honorable, despite having been corrupted by Hircine and the Witches of Glenmoril. Though he did not join them, Kodlak Whitemane promised a bed would be there for him if he so desired. Now, Bronmir lives in Winterhold as a Blacksmith, seeking justice and offering protection for those who cannot protect themselves.

What RP rules/restrictions do you impose on yourself?https://TheSkyForge.ning.com/groups/roleplaying/forum/what-rp-rules-restrictions-do-you-impose-on-yourself2017-12-05T21:37:05.000Z2017-12-05T21:37:05.000ZCursehttps://TheSkyForge.ning.com/members/Hantz
As the title of the discussion suggests I am curious to know what roleplay rules/restrictions to you impose on your playthrough of Skyrim and/or Fallout. Some simple examples include refusing to fast travel, or resting at taverns regularly.
