Character build : The Scavenger

Hi all!

Before anything else, I want to warn you that I am French and that my command of the language of Sheakespeare leaves something to be desired. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

While playing TES, I wondered about the most RP way to play a big bastard service without going into extreme dark fantasy or taken from other classes present in games that have nothing (to name just 'an example, the death knght of wow) ...

Then finally I came to a totally new character never thought of by any builder: A crooked warlord who profits from the horrors of war, I named:

The scavenger

So already, how did I think this character?

First of all, this idea came to me from two sources of inspiration, the first being Lieutenant Pradelle, a fictional character from a French movie and novel entitled "Au revoir là haut", I saw the worst junk I could imagine. The perfect raptor! The one who profits from the war and all the sufferings that it generated to satisfy his insatiable avarice ... The second being a lambda mob that one can cross in the game alétément "the recuperator" a guy who searches the corpses for to make equipment and probably to pick up some gold.

Basically, our character is an unscrupulous booty hunter, he is not a simple warrior but a perfect avatar of war, profiteer, vicelard and without any notion of humanity.

Before going any further, I still want to point out that the presence of at least one mod is strongly recommended to reinforce the immersion although there is nothing obligatory ...

I think of the war zone mode found on the site of the brotherhood that allows spawning battles everywhere in the game, ideal for creating raptor opportunities! as well as an advanced trading mod to make haggling more realistic and immersive, the goal being to become rich. We can push the cap a little further if we are a bit twisted and download mods for adults related to sexual domination ...

For stats, I can see a 2/2/1 ratio

For Skill
The two-handed weapon to carry a beautiful swordfish; a heavy armor probably recovering on a dead unfortunate, enchantment for what will follow, ie, of the conjuration And yes! Leave to profite the dead as much to make it to the end and to invest in the necro branch, the eloquence of course, can be a little bit of parade and every time crocheting for fortified loot!

As for the equipment, that heavy, whatever the matter, you recover the remains of battlefields and burial, no matter the aesthetics or the coherence of the set, the essential thing is the value and efficiency. You can combine Daedra armor pieces with heavy falmer, it does not matter, good taste and traditional values do not bother you.

Regarding the gameplay and roleplay (this part of my build follows the recommendations of our dear friend Curse) I imagine our brutal and opportunist anti-hero (the part "quest" comes lower). As our character has no moral conscience and nourishes only his own ambitions, it will be up to him to create opportunities to fatten up on death.

For example, after installing the mod "Warzone" (if you have deigned to do it) do not seek to do service to a camp that you will have pre-selected - even if you choose one according to the profits you wish to make - go into battle with greatsword in hand and slaughter all you can without distinction, if possible accompanied by a zombie taken from another battlefield or a burial place and once the area cleaned up, recover everything that pays! Whether in terms of weapon value, armor or gold! Do not clutter objects for their only aesthetic or historical value. Good taste and sensitivity are foreign to you.

Nothing also stops you from killing an innocent walker if he looks rich or sturdy enough to make a good zombie golem ready to fight.

Do the same with all the camps and dungeons you find and do not hesitate to use your talents as crooks and gold seekers (do not forget to unlock the appropriate perk of this skill) to get you a nice nest egg and a optimized equipment! The advantage of this build is that it is both RP and unsubmissive to all forms of strict rules. Our character suddenly start to venerate an Aedra like a Daedra according to the context, the whole thing is not to do it by conviction.

At the level of the erect stone, I see two possibilities, the stone of the steed to carry a maximum of loot which would be a choice at once RP and practical, or we turn to the stone of the lover, our character being versatile (borrowing from both the mage, the thief and the warrior) there is no wrong choice, just logical choices for a fearful raptor.

As for worship or quests, I do not have much to proscribe if not always aim for profit! We accept a quest when it is big, in doubt we do everything. The quest for namira can be nice to play the cannibal and strengthen the scavenger side, the vampirism is too restrictive and not necessarily comfortable for us ... The Civil War: the imperial goes well! An expansionist war that allows the richest to fatten even more is for us!

I think I went around!

I am ready to gather your opinions and suggestions!

Cordially !

  • Well first off welcome to the Skyforge! I see you've hit the ground running right away with this build, and its really quite good, especially for what I assume is your first build. Forgive me if that assumption is wrong.

The roleplay concept is gold and fits perfectly with the events in game. You've done a great job explaining how this character is to interract with the world around him.

My only recommendation is to elaborate some on the gameplay aspects of this character. What perks and standing stone did you use and why? How does this character fight, or does he prefer not to fight? What enemy types does he excel against and which ones should he avoid?

Again, great build and once again welcome to the skyforge.

    • Hello Curse, thank you for your welcome and your comment wise!
Moreover, I want to apologize for not having gone through the presentation phase, indeed I was so thirsty to share my gaming experience that I forgot this step! To answer your first question, this is my first build on this site but I have already experienced others in the past on French forums. As for the interactions between the character and the universe, I will immediately give more details! It is still a little thin.
Thank you again and look forward to reading you!
