Writing Prompts Introduction

Hey y’all!

I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me with questions about writing over the past recent months. One recurring question that I think all writers deal with is “Where should I begin?” We’ve all been to that awful place: we have inspiration to put pen to paper and craft some fancy story, but we don’t know what we want to write about. To help combat this terrible feeling, I’ve decided to create a place where you can come look for ideas. Introducing “Writing Prompts”.

I know the name is unoriginal but at least you know what to expect, right? “Writing Prompts” is a section of The Story Corner that will contain prompts and ideas to help push you in the right direction. My goal is to have a “Writing Prompts” blog posted every month by myself or one of the admins. Each blog will contain different Elder Scrolls related prompts/scenarios, characters, races, weapons, armors, spells, locations, or themes to help spark your imagination. Additionally, different real-world holidays, events, and themes corresponding with the blog’s month will be shared, hopefully giving you even more inspiration.

“Writing Prompts” is not a writing event. (We plan to have those very soon, however, so just hold on a little longer.) The blogs are simply to help give inspiration where it is lacking. That being said, I am super excited to see if anyone will actually find these helpful and wants to participate. For those that would like to use the prompts, tag your work with “writingpromptsmonthyear”, replacing monthyear with the corresponding date you took the prompt from. For example, “writingpromptsmay2020” would be used if writing for that month.

If you guys have any questions about “Writing Prompts” or if you want to suggest themes for future blogs, feel free to comment below or private message me. I love hearing from everyone and will do my best to make sure everyone feels comfortable growing as a writer. Much love to you all and I hope you have a fantastic year!
