Straag Rod (The Turning Wheel): ToC

Welcome! This is the Table of the Contents for a series of books that will chronicle the life of the Altmer, Äelberon of Dusk, the Last Dragonborn. This page will regularly be updated with links as chapters are published. Originally posted on Steam and then The Skyrim Blog and Tamriel Vault, the version presented here is a rewrite that revises a lot of what I disliked about its initial drafts. If you enjoyed the series from those other sites, it may be worth a reread as it is significantly different.

Straag Rod is a tale that incorporates, interprets, reinterprets, and adds to the extensive lore of the Elderscrolls Universe and as a result, it often refers to events throughout all the Eras. In addition, to supplement the storytelling, various appendeces will be posted including author-written lore books, poetry, and timelines that put events of the story in context. I have been writing this fanfiction off and on since about 2014 and it has been expanded to form an entire universe of characters by a small team of authors. Links to the expanded stories will be provided or posted if I am the sole author.

Disclaimer and Trigger Warning: Straag Rod and ESRU (Expanded Straag Rod Universe) are stories for mature audiences that includes sex, class struggles, racism, adult language, torture and violence, and other adult themes. While I do not find it particularly explicit or gratuitous, there is a matter-of-fact candor to the storytelling that could be offensive to some. Please be advised and thank you.

  • So good to see this series on the Skyforge! I'll definitely be taking some time this weekend to read it.

    • Thanks, Curse. Sorry for the delay in response. No internet save on my ps4 since I posted the last chapter, but a new one is coming up today. :D

  • A new chapter has been in the works for some time, but due to an extremely stressful situation at school, I have not been able to write like I want to. Once things settle, I'll be back in straag form. I'm very eager to get out of the Tower and back into the present as there will be some notable changes to the original Straag Rod. I appreciate everyone's or, lol, the one person's patience.

  • Some minor updates were added. I'll try to start chapter 10 this weekend. It's a large battle, oh boy... Well, at least I have the PoV and that'll make it easier to write in some ways.

  • After a long hiatus due to my Doctoral document, I am in a position where I can work on this again with a big smile on my face. In fact, I think I need a change in username. :D

  • I was pouring over some old documents I had transferred over to my new computer when I noticed a distinct lack of a certain PDF file, detailing the adventures of some old, foul-mouthed Altmer, I think.

A great loss, but I'm ecstatic to see you're still working on this. I've read a lot of fantasy and your depiction of the Oblivion Crisis and the defense of the Crystal Tower is still so iconic in my mind. I cannot wait to read that again, but it has been awhile, so I think I might have to turn the Wheel back a bit and start at the beginning.

Oh, and congratulations on that doctorate!
