Who's getting Fallout 76?

New poll up on the front page asking one simple question: Anyone hyped for Fallout 76?

Rumor has it a beta version will be dropping on Xbox1 soon. Now I understand many may have reservations about getting the game, and I'd like to discuss that and more in this discussion. Me, I'm actually pretty excited about this game, but unfortunately lack an Xbox1 to try out the beta. So for those who are lucky enough to have one, lemme know how the game is.

For the less optimistic I've featured a video by our good friend BadCompanySarge. You might have seen his impressive collection of Skyrim build videos and Legendary challenges. Here he is now to explain why this game is going to be a lot better than you might think.

  • I was disappointed with FO4 to be quite honest and have fallen out (HAAAA) of favor with the franchise a bit which is sad. No doubt I will try this game but my real end goal here is to fill the empty void that is the wait for ES6.

  • I plan on getting Vault 76

  • I might get it, if nothing else I catches my eye around the time. If you pre-order you get Beta access

  • I probably will. While the lack of NPCs worries me, it could be fun to play with friends. Never really done much with Fallout, so it should be an interesting experience.

  • Never really played Fallout. Apparently 3 and New Vegas are pretty good, but I hear 4 really limits your roleplay potential by giving you a forced backstory. So probably not from me, unless it turns out to be really good and a good entry point for the series, but I'm not expecting anything incredible.

    • I say New Vegas is a good entry

    • The forced backstory on Fallout 4 was a bit of a pain. I ended up either going to some crazy lengths to incorporate parts of it or just ignored it entirely and didn't worry about the odd in-game contradiction.

  • I intend to get the game pretty soon after it’s release, unless initial reviews reveal the game is an absolute flop. Overall I’m optimistic about the game but I do worry whether Bethesda can pull this off. Bethesda is famous for the game breaking bugs they leave in their games, so I don’t know how much better they’ll fare with an MMO.

  • Obviously I am incredibly hyped about it. Since I made the above video a lot of the smaller speculation points I had touched on have turned out to be true which reassures me even more. At this point my only real worries are technical ones (hoping the servers are good, rendering distances don't force too many drop frames, my PC doesn't decide to spontaneously combust, that kind of stuff)
