Deadly beyond thought, the greatest warriors of the Impieral Empire, and feared amonge all on the battlefield, The Imperial Battlemage. You grew up on a farm outside of Cyrodill with your family fantasizing about being one of these great warriors ever since you met one in your small village. He moved in to "protect the village" but everyone knew it was a retirement. You became freinds with him and talked to him all the time as he would share his stories of his battles with you. You grew up and now decided it was time that you started to make this dream a reality. You look to the man and ask his advice. He tells you that if you truly want to pursue this path you need to be ready before you jump in. Over the next couple month he teaches you a simple healing spell and fire spell and how to weild them properly. You train on some hunting missions for deer and such so that no one would know that you are doing this. You practice your healing on the wounded that travel through town. After a while you ask him to train you in sword play. He looks at you and says "It is not that easy. You do not just pick up a weapon and swing it around. You use your whole body to understand your weapon." After listening to this long and tedious lecture you agreed that for him to train you you will wear full armor during it and hold a shield. After a full years worth of training you finally feel like you are ready to join the Imperial Legion as a Battlemage. You get shivers thinking about it. You bid your family fair well and hire a cart to take you to Skyrim.
After reaching Skyrim you start your long walk to meet up with one of the main cities. You hear Whiterun would be a good place to start and possibly get a rid from there to the head quarters of the Leigion. You start walking to Helgon when you are ambushed by bandits. You fight some off but all in all that get your belongings and seems like your about to meet your end. Then a man wearing Blue, a Nord you guess comes ad rescues you. You thank him and follow him to their camp where you meet Ulfrim Stormcloak the head of the Rebellion. Irony is laughing in your face. Then the next day the camp was ambushed by the Imperial Legion! Thank the Eight you are saved. Or not. They wrap you up and take you to Helgan as a prisoner just like the rest, and what is waiting for you when you get there, a bloody block. You really need to work on this bad luck streek. Well looks like that dream of Joining the Legion as an Impierial Battlemage is about to come to a very abrupt and bloody end.
Then out of nowhere you hear a roar. Everyone is on edge but they are continuing the executions. It is your turn. Then your day is about to get worse, which you really did not think that was possible, but hey fate has already laughed at you several times so why not. A dragon shows up. Starts to burn everything to the ground. The only good thing was your head is still attached. You followed one of the guards into the keep and helped him escape. He tells you to head to Solitude and you can join there and for helping him he has no doubt that you earned your pardon. Finally good news. Now all you have to do is get there and fight for what you believe in. After what has happened so far though you expect there to be things that get in your way the whole way there.
I made this build because I am supprised we already don't have one. The Imperial Battlemage is a historic character build in the game. Not to mention a very powerful one. Also because of the large influence the Imperials have in Skyrim this is a great addition.
Race: Imperial (The story is only fit for an Imperial, not to Mention that they start with all the needed abilities)
HEALTH: 1 Though you are a close quarters fighter, your heavy armor and restoration will keep you from dying more that extra health
MAGIC:2 You need the Magic to preform your Destruction for ranged attacks, and Restoration for healing
STAMINA:2 You need the stamina for Power attacks and because your armor is heavy so you need extra to carry everything
Major:
BLOCK-I would go for everything but quick reflexes. It is a good perk but all it is doing is slowing the game for extra time. This makes 12 Perks in BLOCK
HEAVY ARMOR- Fill heavy armor. You need the Defense as a close quarters fighter. Total of 12 Perks in Heavy
ONE HANDED- First as an Imperial and the type of training the character go he is most likely going to use One handed Swords. That being said go up the center of the tree get all the strike abilities and max out YOUR weapon of choice, Mace, axe, or sword. Also max out Armsman for damage. Total of 12 perks in Onehanded
Minor:
SMITHING- Though it is a minor ability, max it out take everything. You want to be sure that no matter the follower you can custom make for them too. Total 10 perks
RESTORATION- Okay, Novice to Master, obviously. Regeneration for the extra health. Respite for the Extra Stamina boost. Necromage to be better against undead, which there are a lot of. 2 in recovery for 50% faster magic recharge. Last Avoid death, the name speaks for itself. 11 perks in all
DESTRUCTION- Interestingly the one you put least in. Again Novice to Master. Rune Master becase you would be suprised at how good it is to hove the enemy charge at you and then just die. Then choose an element and go with it. I recommend Shock because of the mana drain which is great for anything that uses magic in this game, which is everything. Total perks 9
Stones: Lover stone to get that boost to leveling or warrior stone because 80 % of skills are Warrior based, Steed stone for the weight and extra carry space. Lord stone for bonus Damage resist(My all time fav)
Followers: You are a supporter of the Legion, however you also consider yourself protector of the common good. Anyone that is not EVIL, (cough Dark brotherhood) should be okay. I mean you might not side with the Stormcloaks but you did get saved by them upon entering Skyrim so your veiw is more in the middle.
Fighting Style: You are the caughtious type. You do not like to let your guard down. This makes it hard for anyone to take you down and that is how you like it. You always have your shield drawn. Your right hand is for Casting and weilding your weapon. When using a spell what if they charge you and you did not have your weapon out. I bet that warhammer is going to hurt a lot. So to counter this you always have your shield there ready to bash your enemies face in. You love your shield. You polish your shield. You sleep with your shield. Good shield. This is not how most Battlemages fight you were told. The old ma used to tell you about running in blade in one hand and fire in the other. But you don't like to get hit. Why risk it when you could just avoid it. You are not going to charge in yelling your name with no protection. That is stupid. You were already ambushed once, NEVER again.
Note: After taking all these perks and everything you should be around 67 level. That is high. However if you want to split Smithing and put points into Enchanting I would do it, it is a great way to make money and it could help in the long run. I hope you enjoy this character, I do not see many that support the Imperials much in this game.
