WIP Character Builds

We understand making a great character build that others actually want to play is difficult. And while some are comfortable working on their build in private and releasing it when complete, others may desperately need a lot of guiddance along the way. Whats where this section comes in.

In this section you may post any half finished rough draft build your working if you're in need of guidance or just want a place for people to evaluate your work as you work on it. Here are some helpful guidelines to remember

-Ensure you include the term "WIP Build" to your title so it can be more readily distinguisable from completed character builds. Example - WIP Build: The Sneak Archer

-For those posting their WIPs here, please be open to constructive criticism. You wouldnt be posting your work here if you thought it was perfect to begin with, so please make an honest effort to take in criticism. 

-For those commenting, dont be an ass. It takes a bit of courage to share ones own creative ideas, so dont ruin it by trying to bring people down. Be mindful of how you critique. Focus on being constructive

-When your build is complete, feel free to move it yourself or let me or an admin know and we'll move it over to where the completed builds reside.

Character Build: The High Flyer(WIP)

Hello and welcome to my first build. Today is a build that in an acrobat based build that specializes in  the characters acribatics(obviously), speed and range but will use their fist or dagger if needed. This is a modded that will heavily use Ordinator for the perks and other mods that i will list below. Lets get into it.

  The High Flyer was raised by a scout for the imperial army for a father and a painter for a mother. They always had an intrest of climbing and reaching the top of something weather it be a tree or a house. When they were 16 a circus came through their area and they went to go see it in the city and absolutely mesmerized by it and went to go try to join it. The headmaster was impressed by the high flyers acrobatics and hired them. The high flyer said goodbye to their parents and went traverling all over Tamerial to perform for people and they were a master at it. Wowing people immediately with their agility and tricks little did the high flyer knew is that circus was also all thieves. They were able to use her abilities to break in nobles homes and with being raised by a scout, they were quite stealthy and also being raised by a painter who made lots of gold with her look. The high flyer had a good eye for high value items. The high flyer very much enjoyed the thrill of doing the roberys and didnt fell bad either as these were the very wealthy they were robbing and not somone just getting by. Though they enjoyed it very much, they did want to be able to leave and come home and enjoy life back home. Unfortunately for high flyer the circus had other plans for them. Getting them hooked on skooma which caused the high flyer to be stuck with them due to their addiction, Little did the circus know this would also be their demise. One night in Cheydinhal the high flyer was set to rob a noble's home for a special made vase. It was just like every other robbery the high flyer did. Came in Through the top window and walked on the walls. They were able to get it and get out. Little did the high flyer know is that they got caught on a hook on the way out and lost a piece of their suit. A piece with the symbol of circus. The next moring the Cheydinhal gaurds payed the circus a visit and arrested every one of them, execpt for the high flyer. They were able to escape with their jumps and speed and ran all the way to skyrim and into riften where they are still to this day. Living in beggars row as their skooma addiction made them nothing but a low life. They would stew there for almost a year till one day the high flyer ran out of skooma and gold. They said enough was enough was enough and decdied to get clean which is wear you join the high flyers adventure on becoming one of the best thieves Tamrial has seen but also never seen as for almost everyone the high flyer is just a shadow, a gust of wind, and a bird due to their agility and mobility.

Race and Gender: I kept the race and gender unknown to give everyone a choice and what they want as i will do with all my builds but for me i went with a female Khajiit as they are historically acrobatic and have a reputation for being thieves.

 

Stats: 1 Health/1 Stamina. You can optionally do magicka too till it hits 150 if you have Mysticism as it has a slowfall spell and an addon that gives you a jump spell.

 

Standing/Birthstone: I chose the thief stone as the extra movement speed and fall damage reduction was a nice addition to this build. The shadow stone is also a great choice.

 

Spells: The 2 i listed above are really the ones i recommend for this playthrough

 

Shouts: The high flyer for me wasn't a dragonborn so i don't recommend shouts

The Essential Mods:

                                                     

Simple Acrobatics and Athletics - The mod that really makes the high flyer what it is. Adds a acrobatics skill and athletics skill just like the ones from oblivion and morrowind.

 

Ordinator - This mod is very obvious 

 

Mundus - The standing stone mod that i used for this playthrough. Highly recommend 

 

Aetherius - A race mod i used by the same author of mundus. a minimalistic race mod

 

tk dodge - The quintessntial dodge mod which i say is a must for the high flyer

 

Skyrim Unbound - An alternate start mod that'll have you start in beggars row in which i listed in the high flyers backstory or another homeless shelter.

 

 

Optional Mods:

 

Hand-to-Hand -  A mod that uses custom skills framework is currently useable as of 11-21-24 but if bethesda decides to be a bunch of jackasses again and randomly update the game CSF will break and so will Hand-to-Hand

 

Unarmored Skills - Exactly the same thing with the last mod

 

Heavy Armory - A mod that adds spears which can is a good long range melee weapon if bows and throwing weapons isn't your thing. Which speaking of...

 

Throwing weapons- Death from afar - A mod that add many throwing weapons of every ore/faction type. It is an Oldrim mod but i was able to get it to work on SE/AE with Cathedral Assets Optimizer

Classic Classes and Birthsigns - A mod that adds the classes of Morrowind and Oblivion and Birthsigns from Oblivion with the lack of atrributes that skyrim has.

Skills and Perks

 

Essential Skills 

 

Sneak- Not only is it gonna make you as quite as a mouse you will also have sneak roll which you will use to sneak up to marks and targets faster.

 

Pickpocket- This is a thief so you will obviously need this perk.

 

Lockpicking- Same thing as Pickpocket.

 

Archery- Range is your best friend in this build so definitely wanna know how to use a bow or to be able throwing a knife inbetween someone's eyes.

 

Light armor/hand-to-hand- if you got the hand-to-hand skill mod you will use that. If not you will use light armor has Ordinator gives the skill tree a hand-to-hand section.

 

Optional Skills

 

Alteration- With Mysticism you will have a slowfall spell, which will allow you to fall wherever you want. And a jump spell which will allow you to jump to even greater hights than you already can

 

Two handed- This will make using a spear eaiser.

Gear

 

I went witha roughspun tunic and footwraps which is based off the acrobat picture in Oblivion. For Rings and necklace i went with a ring of peerless health  and the amulet of articulation or one of peerless sneaking. The ring of the wind is also a good choice and i used it whenever i wasn't in combat. As for Weapons i chose dragonbone throwing knifes but if you want a bow i say zeypher or the nightngale bow and a Dragonbone spear with a paralyze effect.

Quest

 

Thieves Guild Questline: Feel like this is the most obvious choice since this character is a thief and what better to use your thieving abilities then being apart of a guild that are thieves

 

The fishing questline that leads to the dwarven fishing pole: The pole gives you an extra 5% chance to get rare items like the ring of the wind.

 

Lights Out!: A quest that has you rob a imperial cargo ship whilst getting beytrayed an exacting revenge on the crew. Trying to see if you still have the skills in performing robberies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roleplay

 

  This character i would list as a choatic neutral. Someone who won't harm the innocent but won't be afraid to kill someone who gets in their way. The high flyer won't ever harm the poor but the rich are fair game for the high flyer in terms of robbing. Always go for the high ground as a certain Jedi from a galaxy far, far away a long time ago has shown its all you need to win fights.
