                              The Last Roman

The war in the west isn't going well. The Legion is losing and its dream of making New Vegas the new Rome is crushed. The forces of the NCR are closing in on the Legion capital, Two Sun. Caesar is dead and Legate Lanius has turned the Legion army into bloodthirsty savages, a shadow of the former legionaries.

To save the Legion, Caesar gave his last command to one of his most trusted Centurions, Antonius, to travel east and establish a new colony for the Legion. From there, he will establish a new home for the Legion and take back America in the name of Mars.

                                                        ***

Antonius was taken into the Legion at the age of four, when his tribe, the Twisted Hairs was conquered by Caesar. He went on to become one of the most decorated fighters and leaders alongside Vulpes Inculta, Legate Lanius and the Malpais Legate. He was named after Marcus Antonius, one of the greatest Roman generals.

At the age of 12, he had his first combat experience as a recruit, being made a full legionary for his actions in that battle. At the age of 15 he became a decanus and was put in charge of his own camp. During the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam, Antonius, aged 20, led a counterattack on a NCR artillery position, taking it out almost single-handedly and giving the Legion a chance at winning the battle.

His victory was futile in the end as the Boomers bombing raid decimated the Legion army. After the battle, Antonius was promoted to the rank of Centurion, the youngest to ever have that honor. In the next 6 years, Antonius undertook countless raids and battles against the invading NCR. But it was not enough. The Legion needs a new home. For the first time in his life, Antonius turned his gaze towards the east. Towards the Commonwealth.
