so ive been playing fallout new vegas a lot lately and something just occured to me. when you do the whole run around at the beginning from goodsprings to boulder city, a bit of an interesting thing to do is clear out black mountain and also take a shortcut through hidden valley to helios one. black mountain is a great way to get a defense against the deathclaws in quarry junction in the form of annabelle. helios one is obviously close to boulder city, so you can just skip the majority of the beginning of the game and go to freeside early on. also. a good way to make some caps early on is robbing the silver rush, or killing the van graffs if you have low sneak, and looting the place. its an easy 4000 to 5000 caps early and free weapons too if you keep some of it. gun runners arsenal adds even more to loot.
