I hate Enchanting and Alchemy

I hope this is the right forum to rant about this skills. Once again I got quite excited about making a sword'n'stuff falmer/snow elf build for the "Lost Arts" event. Both Vokrii and Ordinator offer interesting staff perks in enchanting perk-tree so I started building. Long story short, like always I ended up rushing enchanting to 100. The staffs still can only be enchanted with highest vanilla expert spells (Icy spear, Incinerate, Thunderbolt) and ofc wall spells. SO now I enchanted my swords, 4 of them but stalhrim sword with chaos and ice enchantment was most powerfull, closer to 500 per hit just from enchantments. now on Legendary it take about 20-30 staff blasts per enemy and like 2 hits with sword. Enchanted weapons are overpowered and staffs underpowered. The build is broken and I got bored 10 minutes after enchanting my gear.

And the same thing happens every time I do add alchemy in my build. I rush 100 alchemy,  search database for hours, collect ingredients, sometimes I even build houses to plant ingredients, then I make a bunch of OP potions and poisons, break the game and go cry. And I'm not even talking about enchanting and alchemy loop crafting or some Fortify restoration potion glitches. And it doesn't matter Vanilla, Vokrii, Ordinator it's always the same. Smithing is repetative, but at least it's not op unless used with alchemy and/or enchanting. It's only no crafting builds for me now. Unless someone has some good examples how they limited this with RP.

Sorry, just had to get it out of my chest. I really wanted a balanced sword'n' staff build. 31103490489?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Personally I just try not to mix crafting skills together, or if I do, I limit how much I perk into em
