Hey guys, in a recent discussion, a member of the Sky Forge asked for Skywind and Skylivion updates. For those wondering exactly what Skywind and Skylivion is, well - that's why I created this.
What is Skywind and Skylivion
(For those of you who know what Skywin and Skylivion are, feel free to skip this)
An old cover photo from the TESR: Skywind Facebook page
Skywind and Skylivion are a two massive projects that are fan made mods for Skyrim. Skywind if you haven't worked it out by now is Skyrim + Morrowind, and the same with Skylivion (Skyrim and Oblivion). They are fan made mods, that are being created by the community, for the community. The team working on Skywind is massive - and before you ask, they are not taking donations due to several major reasons, including legal - anywho, the TESRenewal team (that's the team working on Skywind and Skylivion) are hundreds of everyday people, volunteering their time to create possibly the largest and most anticipated mod ever.
They are working both on Skywind and Skylivion, but moreso on Skywind. In Skywind, they are recreating all of Morrowind (minus the DLC's at this point). And I mean all of Morrowind, from NPC's, to Weapons to even creating Voice Overs (those of us who played Morrowind, know that, that is the one thing Morrowind did not have).
If that hasn't answered what Skywind is, here are the questions from the TESRenewal website:
Q: What IS Skywind exactly?
A: It is a non-commercial, fan made modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that seeks to merge the amazing world of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind with the enhanced graphics and capabilities of Skyrim's engine.
While ownership of both games is required to play, the player only actually plays Skywind using the Skyrim game, and not the older Morrowind game. This means that the user interface, combat, graphics, and system requirements for the Skywind mod are all those of Skyrim, and NOT Morrowind.
Q: But Morrowind had very outdated graphics, especially in the mesh and texture areas!
A: All textures and meshes are being redone to give the game an updated appearance. The level of quality upon release should rival or surpass the average Skyrim mesh or texture.
I have simply copied two of the questions from the TESRenewal website, in hopes to explain it better.

I cannot wait for these projects to finish. They will be unbelievably enjoyable. I have never been able to get myself to fully play through Oblivion or Morrowind for some reason. Maybe this will help me ...
Neither can I honestly. Skywind for the moment is their main focus (due to it being started first and being much larger). Once they bring out Skywind at the very least - I reckon this place will be booming
