Welcome, everypony, to my latest Fallout 4 build. Inspired by a fairly recent playthrough of DOOM 1 and 2, as well as old school action movies like Rambo and the Terminator, we got ourselves a gun toting, explosion spewing, armored badass. Welcome to.....
¨Born and raised in a patriotic Boston family, the Berserk Marine, as he would later call himself, was shipped off to military school at a young age. While fighting alongside his unit during the Battle of the Sea of Tranquility, the Berserk Marine flew into a rage when his commanding officer insulted his pet dog, as well as ordering him to fire on unarmed Chinese citizens, and he proceeded to beat him to near death. His court martialing and jail time were postponed when he single handedly slew an ambushing squad of Chinese soldiers barehandedly. Both in awe at his feat, and fearful of death, he was reinstated into the military. He married a lawyer in the military´s legal department, and had a child with her. When his wife was murdered, and his son stolen, he set off on a quest of bloody vengeance. This is his awesome story, and his life motto: Rip and tear!¨

GAMEPLAY
This character is both blunt, and varied. Your main style of combat will be to adopt a run-and-gun style of shooting. Ergo, grab a gun, make sure you have some ammo, and blast at your enemies, while moving.
Now, fire big guns, like Miniguns, and Gatling Lasers, you´ll want to save these for larger groups of enemies, like clearing out all the Super Mutants from Fallon´s Department Store, or taking down big mothertrucking hitting motherbuckers like Alpha Deathclaws, Super Mutant Behemoths or Mirelurk Queens.
Now, a note about Fusion Cores. Since I didn't think I needed them, due to not using Power Armor, I sold my Fusion Cores for some easy bottlecaps. Do NOT make that mistake. True, selling mostly empty FC´s are fine, but I did not know until I got one that, unlike in 3 and New Vegas, instead of running on Electromagnetic Cartridges, as they are known as in Fallout 4, but Fusion Cores, which makes sense, as, with the righr Chems and mods, Gatling Lasers can do some insane damage, so it's probably for balancing purposes.
Now, once you get to your early to mid-level 30´s, head on over to Hub City Auto Wreckers, and be prepared for a fierce fight against Gunners, an Assaultron, a turret, and Captain Bridgett. Once you take her down, preferably so her cadaver doesn´t ragdoll off the bridge, loot her for that sweet, sweet Heavy Combat Armor. In my playthroughts, I found every piece, except the Right Arm, which I substituted with a Heavy Leather Right Arm. The helmet of choice shall be the Yellow Flight Helmet, or the Destroyer´s Helmet, which can be bought from Covenant
Chems such as PyschoBuff, BuffJet, OverDrive, Fury, and the like are quite useful with this build, especially once you perk Chemist. These can make all most all fights into overkill, and once your Chem fueled rage clears, you´ll find you´ve been the last man standing on the battlefield for a few minutes.
A minigun and ammo can be easily found in Concord, as usual, or on Ack-Ack in the Olivia station, where you´ll grab the Silver Locket for Blake Abernathy anyway.
*Addendum for Far Harbor users, the Marine Combat Armor is a very good replacement, both stat and aesthetic wise.
*Addendum 2: In the later levels, I recommend playing this build at higher difficulty levels, since it can get INSANELY OP at times.
EQUIPMENT
Weapons
As earlier, our weapons will mostly be ballistic or energy based. For close ranged fighting, you´ll want either a Ripper, preferably extended, or a Power Fist. Though, with perks in Iron Fist, I killed quite a few Raiders, Trappers, etc, with but my bare fists.
Now, onto your regular old guns. In keeping with the tradition of DOOM, my main weapon was not a 10mm Pistol, but a shotgun, a regular Double-Barrel at first, easily grabbed from Raiders in Concord, then later a Combat Shotgun. If you, like me, get lucky and find a Legendary version, with the National Guard Training Depot being a wonderful farming spot, then I would suggest getting an Explosive, or Unlimited (No longer needing to reload is so sweet), Combat Shotgun, which I renamed ¨The Super Shotgun¨ This beautiful, shell-spewing beauty got me through a fair bit of the game.
Now, comes the fun guns. Here we get to the beef of the build, large guns spraying your foes with lead and lasters, until they're nothing but bloody chunks on the floor. Even though it doesn't summon forth an expanding energy ball of death dealing deliciousness, a Gatling Laser at least resembles the glorious Big F**cking Gun 9000, and deals some serious damage. Next up is the Gauss Rifle, this amazingly powerful weapon. Once you retake The Castle, you can buy The Last Minute, a legendary Gauss Rifle from Shaw, which with the right mods, deals over 220 damage per shot. Even though it can’t get ammo from absorbing the souls of demons, the Unmaker, as I renamed it, the ammo is relatively cheap, and it's such a fun weapon to use overall.
ARMOR
For the uninitiated, Hub City Auto Wreckers is a fort like area, combined with a bit of an overpass, guarded by Gunners, a turret, and an Assaultron. The main one here is Captain Bridget, the only named Gunner in the area, and the strongest. Killing her nets you all most all Heavy Combat Armor pieces, minus the right arm. Once you get Cap Collector to level two, build the last level of Armor store, and hope RNGesus smiles on you and you can knick a Heavy Combat Armor Right Arm.
Then, I discovered The Marine Assault Armor. This beautiful set seems more Space Marine to me, and looks friggin awesome. At first, the only pieces I found were Legendary, and from merchants around Far Harbor. However, following a miscellaneous little quest given from a main quest, I nabbed a full set, as well as the Marine Wetsuit and Tactical Helmet. Alongside looking quite badass, it has quite the ballistic and energy rating. I personally slapped on Deep Pocketed, in order to carry more crafting supplies, and decently sell price weapons and armor, with some to scrap into their components. With my base Strength, the +3 from the Army Fatigues, the +100 from Lone Wanderer, and the Deep Pocketed mods, my final carry weight amounted to a sweet 500.
Beneath this sweet set, I wore a set of Army Fatigues. While I don’t recall anywhere you can almost always grab these, and their +3 Strength bonus, aside from hoping it's in a shop like Fallon’s Basement
ROLEPLAY
Don't randomly shoot up citizens, unless they're assholes, like most of the people in Covenant.
Occasionally go out to places like Briarheart Banks to murder things, to keep your DOOMGuyness high.
If you don´t have him along, make a daily visit to Dogmeat if possible.
Try and Persuade/Threaten people whenever possible, especially threatening,
Thanks for reading!
