Appearance:
The Changed come in many forms. General consensus is that they are souls of previously alive humans or elves that have been transferred into the decomposed bodies of the dead, thereby creating a unique "undead yet alive" situation. The two specimens we have at our disposal are one burnt novice mage corpse whose flesh is still fuming and crackling, exhaling smoke with every breath and one decaying corpse unearthed from a grave with rotten away flesh, dangling eyes and greenish tinted skin, seeping a vile liquid.

Passive: Magic:
Depending on what souls have been used, those with a history of magic may retain some simple spells like fire balls, lightning strikes or basic healing.
Whack:
Attacks foes with one of its limbs. Lack of proper muscle structure makes this into a feeble attempt at defense more than an attack.
Wail:
A ghastly cry for help amidst their madness, plunging bystanders in anxiety.
Backstory:
When the feared Necromancer and his compatriot experimented on two people in an effort to prove obscure theories and uncover the secrets to the blackest of magic, they transferred the souls of two mages into dead bodies. While the experiment was successful, it came at the cost of the last vestiges of humanity the two may have had.
The Changed are not inherently evil but depending on whether or not their sanity holds fast at the grueling realization of them being trapped in rotting flesh, they may or may not be hostile in their madness, ready to attack people and wildlife alike.
