Name: The Crimson Cultist

Creature Type: Humanoid; Blood Mage

Has Soul: Yes

Appearance:

The regular Crimson Cultist can be of any race or gender. Ultimately it doesn't quite matter, as they have removed their lips, eyelids and ears from their head and face as well as all hair by forcefully scalping themselves.

They commonly wear hooded crimson robes, underneath which they're coated with a layer of flayed skin patches from their victims. Blood serves as the adhesive. Their entire body is covered in a dermal layer of skin flakes from other people, including their face.

Via unconsecrated blood magic, they can morph the flesh of their arms to transform them into deadly melee weapons.

Abilities:

Carnal Talon:

The Cultist morphs their arm with twisted magic into a giant, deadly talon of flesh and bone, about twice the size of a regular underarm. With it, they can hack, slash and stab.

Sanguine Invocation:

The Cultist has the capability to utter a phrase in a foreign tongue. If any properly prepared corpses are in the direct vicinity, they will awaken and rush to the Cultist's aid

Rend Flesh:

If the Cultist wields a Fleshrender, they will lash out at any intruders or other victims to tear away skin and flesh from the bones very quickly.

Backstory:

The Crimson Cultists, also known as the Order of the Awakened Carnarium, are a group of unsavoury blood mages and torture worshippers. Whether or not prodigious amounts of indoctrination had to be enforced to bring about this band of twisted zealots is not known. They torture others as well as themselves to strengthen the bond between them and their witchcraft. Moreover, apart from worshipping beastly violence they worship their god king, Lord Atebid, who can be viewed as the cult leader. Nobody really knows what goes on behind the scenes of this tenebrous cult but it is speculated that Atebid strives for unparalleled power.

The cultists do have a hierarchy within their system. Lord Atebid sits at the top. Beneath him are his generals of which only one has thus far been identified. And beneath those sits the bulk of the cult. The cult as a whole has other creatures at their disposal that are underneath the regular cultist, however.

The cultists are mute, how they do communicate with each other is unknown.

It is speculated that in 4E198, the Crimson Cultists have been responsible for a mass kidnapping all over Cyrodiil with hundreds of victims. Head of the Imperial Investigation Division, Thorus Blackward, has been said to work on the case.

Name: The Bloodmaiden

Creature Type: Humanoid; Blood Mage

Has Soul: Yes

Appearance:

The Bloodmaiden appears the same way all other female Crimson Cultists do. Hooded crimson robe, layer of artificially fastened skin flakes over her entire body, no eyelids, lips, ears or hair. Additionally, she morphs her flesh into two giant talons as opposed to just one. She usually wields a certain black book and can also be spotted at times without her robe.

Abilities:

Carnal Twin Talons:

The Bloodmaiden morphs her flesh to conjure up two giant talons of flesh and bone that can be used to hack, slash and stab.

Black Book Invocation:

By the power of a certain black book, the Bloodmaiden can resurrect corpses, empower her underlings or even create a Fleshbound Horror if the necessary materials are present.

Dissolve:

When in a pool of blood, the Bloodmaiden can dissolve into thin air and reemerge wherever a sufficient amount of blood is present.

Bloodwraith Transformation:

In a last act of vengeance, the Bloodmaiden applies the mark of the red hand to herself when she dies, transforming herself into a Bloodwraith to wreak havoc.

Backstory:

The Bloodmaiden is one of Atebid's generals and in command of the subterranean ossuary near the Ylorsel in which the Order of the Awakened Carnarium has situated itself. She distinguishes herself from her normal brethren by her heightened magic abilities and greater combat prowess.

Within her domain, she typically hides inside the carnal sludge, awaiting either a victim or an intruder. It is said that none had ever survived her assault, for she fights not alone but tends to call the Shaped to her aid that are littering the area.
