Skyrim Character Build Event: Tales of Tamriel

Hello and welcome to the first of hopefully many character building events to come! With this event I wanted to try and tick as many boxes as I could and 'Tales of Tamriel' is certainly going to be one for the most creative among us. We'll be taking a dive through the many wonderous books one may find throughout Tamriel and translating the amazing characters and stories within into character builds.

Maybe you want to see what kind of mischief Lifts-Her-Tail would get herself into in Skyrim, perhaps the infamous Queen Potema has somehow made her return to Nirn to torment her subjects, even passages from askill book found at the bottom of a crypt could contain the foundations of an amazing character!

If you're willing to participate, 'Tales of Tamriel'' is going to take you on a pretty nice journey. Nearly everyone has read or at least skimmed through a book or two and found a character or story that piqued their interests, and for this even we'll be bringing those characters and stories to life.

There are very few limits on the character that you choose to make. The only stipulation is that your character build must be relevant to the story that inspired its creation either by way of gameplay or roleplay.

Even if Skyrim is the only Elder Scrolls game you have ever played their is still a huge resource of amazing books for you to choose from. For those that have played previous Elder Scrolls games you should have very few problems making a selection. The games are all rich with fantastic stories.

Without further delay here are the rules.....

  • Your build must be submitted between now or just after the 1st of April 2018 to be counted as part of this event.
  • Your character must be inspired in some way shape or form from a book found in any of the Elder Scrolls games. Or...
  • Your character may be based off any Elder Scrolls fan fiction piece. If this is the route you take please provide appropriate credit to the author's work(s).
    • Please also remember to ask the author for permission to use their work and provide a link to thier work within your build
  • All builds are still subject to normal Group Guidelines and rules
  • Feel free to discuss your selection with the group right here in this thread
  • Most importantly: Have Fun!

  • With my first semester finishing soon, I'll have some free time at the start of my second semester so sign me up! I'm already working on something so I'm super excited about this event. Put me down for the book Incident at Necrom.
    • I just started my second playthrough of this character a few days ago. I wasn't satisfied with my first playthrough because of how clunky it felt so I removed a skill and added a different one. It's been going a lot better.
  • My character build will be based on Morian Zenas, author of "On Oblivion".

I will also be using "Secrets Overheard in Apocrypha" by Zenas along with other references as a supplement.
    • And just like that the hype meter has tilted to max.
    • "The Doors of Oblivion" by Seif-ij Hidja will also be referenced. Just hoarding more books...
    • A new build from Henson?! Definitely excited!
  • I wanna do a book build so bad. But I wouldn't even know where to start.
    • Hit me up in a PM and let's see if we can get you set up with a solid concept
    • I spent hours browsing TIL for a book to work on. It's definitely hard to find a place to start with the sheer number of books available, but I'm sure Curse can help you out. If not, I can help look for you as well, just send me a PM.
  • Oooh, sign me up Curserino. Haven't decided on a book yet, but sign me up
