TES Chronicles - Ararvyne Varam

Greetings, sera. Blackblood here with my newest Chronicle. I've decided to alter the format of these Chronicles slightly. Firstly, each entry probably won't be more than a few sentences long. It becomes mentally jarring to have to do whole paragraphs for each (I've not a single iota of focus within me), so I'll be simplifying them for now. The most important addition is the Prologue, where I give an into on how a character starts. It'll help kick things off.

Anyways, this is Ararvyne's first Chronicle, and the first one I've done since I reinstalled all my mods. Ararvyne is my main OC, the grandmaster of the Daedric Templars, and a champion of Hermaeus Mora. But before he was any of that he was but a remnant of a decimated organization, one that destroyed itself from the inside. This Chronicle will follow his journey as he aims to become the master of Oblivion that I hope he will be. And so without further ado, let's get started shall we?

[The full prologue is under construction in The Story Corner]

Ararvyne was a member of the Tamriel Order of the Lost Praetor, an underground organization founded a century into the 4th Era, dedicated to manipulating Tamriel through the shadows and preventing such calamaties from occurring again. Ararvyne was a slave under Jee-Tah one of its most prominent members, but his life would change when he accidentally stumbled upon his master's hidden documents on the Order. He was taken to their base where he was given the opportunity to join their cause. Seeing an opportunity to escape his enslavement, he agreed and began his new life.

Three years after, he had become a competent agent of the Order. He mentored under his former master and gained a wealth of information. However he would soon witness the fall of the organization. A small group within the Order had planned an insurgence, with the goal of decimating the Order and it's loyal members and founding a new group with a different purpose. Though the plan was ultimately discovered, leading to earlier-than-anticipated action being taken. What resulted was a massive civil war within the organization. Jee-Tah was one of the ones involved with the insurgence, and helped Ararvyne escape the armageddon, entrusting him with a note he'd prepared ahead of time should their plans fall apart.

Ararvyne escaped, while Jee-Tah, the insurgence and the rest of the Order were left to wipe themselves out. By the end of the battle, the group had been all but destroyed, with only Ararvyne left alive. Upon reading the note his former master had given him he came to learn of the insurgence's origins. One of its members received an omen from the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora, of an event that would occur in the distant future known as the "Age of Daedra", when the boundaries keeping Nirn safe from Oblivion begin to distort and shatter, and the influence of the Princes is at it's greatest. He saved Ararvyne from the death that was meant for him for uncovering Jee-Tah's secret documens because he saw his destiny and saw fit to allow him to move forward. He revealed to him the knowledge of a relic, hidden within Skyrim, which would lead him towards his destiny. He saw it best to seek out the relic in Skyrim, partly to repay the debt he had to Jee-Tah for ensuring his survival, and partly to follow down the path that would shed light on his destiny.

A "Warm" Welcome

Ararvyne had very little in the way of an actual plan once he'd arrived in Skyrim. He knew what he sought was there, he just didn't know where, and it's not as if he can ask the locals were to find a Daedric relic. All he knew was that it was related to the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora. For now he planned to stay in Helgen while he formulated a strategy, yet he arrived to find it burned to the ground. The only living being would be a pitch black dragon, seemingly the perpetrator, who flew off as Ararvyne arrived.

Off Course

The last thing Ararvyne expected was to get dragged into some nonsense involving a dragon attack, but he wasn't about to let go of a potential lead on the Daedric relic he sought. Even though dragons are creations of Akatosh, their return signals a major event in the lands, and Ararvyne was going to get at least some degree of involvement in.

Quick Success

Ararvyne had found his first clue into the Daedric relics he sought.  While resting in The Bannered Mare Ararvyne found a journal recklessly left over by some mercenary. It detailed info about another merc, and how the two were hired to track down a set of five rings, one of which was the Ring of Khajiit, a Daedric Artifact belonging to the Prince Nocturnal. It was not Hermaeus Mora, but any item of Daedric origins brings him one step closer to his goal.

An Interesting Proposal

He eventually comes into contact with the man who employed the two mercenaries, Auryen Morellus. With a name like that, Ararvyne had assumed him to be an Imperial. He arrived at his grounds, the "Dragonborn Gallery", a museum with space for seemingly unending numbers of artifacts. Auryen spared no time offering him a job as a relic hunter to help fill the museum, with adequate pay of course. For Ararvyne this was a 2-in-1 deal. On top of getting a chance to search for the relic he sought, he'd also be gaining the funds to support his growth in combat. He did not hesitate to agree, and decided to called upon the aid of a warrior he'd seen in Riverwood, Gorr, or Horker Man as he would refer to him. He would keep him safe until Ararvyne felt he was of strength to battle on his own.

Good Investments

His first assignment was to locate some items to get the museum started: a Sixth House Bell Hammer, a pair of Ancient Daedric Lord Boots, an Akaviri Brass Token, a Jade Statue, and Denstagmer's Ring. Afterwards he was made Auryen's official Relic Hunter. Ararvyne would go on to discover many new artifacts for the museum. He would fill the libraries with whatever books he could carry, travel into caves just to see what he could find, and so on. He found things like the Golden Claw, the Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls, and the sword Debaser.

Gears of Fate

It had been a little more than a month after Ararvyne became the relic hunter of the Dragonborn Gallery. The pay was good, and the dangers served as exercise. His skills improved, his search into the Daedric relic was continuing, and he earned money to fund his Enchanting, Yet with all this various thoughts still crept into his mind. How long would he have to do this before he found what he sought? Months? Years? He had no intent to stop, but he couldn't help but feel the futility of it. But that would all change with Auryen's recent fetch quests. He had come to the relic hunters with a new  goal. Auryen keeps tabs on an eccentric wizard named Septimus Signas, who has recently holed himself up north of Winterhold. When last they spoke, Septimus claimed he knew the location of an Elder Scroll hidden within a Dwarven ruin. Auryen hoped Ararvyne and his companion would assist the wizard in uncovering the scroll, and then hopefully returning with it.
