Still with no response, the Lady points her finger at the man.

Lifting her finger, the man is suddenly stripped off of his skin, leaving behind his exposed flesh and muscles. The man who had kept his mouth shut is now screaming in agony as he lumps over the stony floor, jolting like a fish out of water.

As the Lady continues talking one-sidedly to the now pile of flesh, an eerie voice suddenly echoes from the center citadel.

Lilith, a primordial she-demon figure primarily represented in Mesopotamian and Jewish mythology. Often depicted from a serpentine Lamia-like lady, a winged beast beauty, to a night demon that lures men in their dreams, there are several interpretations regarding Lilith's true origins.
Perhaps the most infamous one is the citation of Lilith as Adam's first wife - the Shadow of Eve - whom God banished from the Garden of Eden for disobeying Adam. The lady then coupled with the Venomous Archangel, Samael, and her wrath took the form of the serpent that lured Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.

Indeed, as the name suggests, this character was inspired by the various interpretations of Lilith. But how does Lilith fit in with the setting and lore of the Elder Scrolls universe? Well, there happens to be one Daedric Lord who shares quite similar traits, the one who is often associated with venomous serpents and referred to as the Dark Queen - the Ruler of Nightmares -ย Vaermina.

Lilith is one of Vaermina's oldest Omens, powerful and malicious Daedras who inhabit the Dark Queen's realm, Quagmire, and seek to spread chaos on Nirn through mortals' dreams. The Devilish Daughter was molded in Vaermina's womb from the nightmares and terror of Lamae Bal, the first Daughter of Coldharbour and the mother of vampires. But what is the connection between Vaermina, Lamae Bal, and vampirism? Well, aย particular event inย TES III: Morrowindย already hints at this relation.
When the Nerevarine contracted the night disease, he had to ask Molag Bal himself for the cure. Interestingly, while Molag Bal is the creator of vampirism, he had to retrieve the cure from Vaermina. Based on that account, what if, during the creation of the first vampire, Molag Bal worked alongside Vaermina? The Prince of Rape held the key to the disease, while the Nightmares Queen knew the secret to its cure, and the unlucky priestess of Arkay - Lamae Bal - was the first unwilling victim.

Through Lamae Bal's horror during the Daedric Lord of Rape's heinous ritual, Vaermina extracted the poor maiden's nightmares to give birth to Lilith, the pale shadow and darkest reflection of Lamae Bal's fear and trauma. While Lamae Bal despised Molag Bal greatly (obviously), she ended up playing her role in Molag Bal's plan as the progenitor of the Sanguine Vampiris disease, spreading vampirism through her bloodlines and other means.
Similar to how Lamae Bal became the key in Molag Bal's plan, Vaermina also prepared Lilith to spread her vile influences and lure mortals into the Nightmares Queen's grasp. However, instead of becoming a progenitor at the dawn of time, Lilith plays the role of a harvester at the end of time. She is a collector of souls who deceive mortals into accepting Vaermina's "salvation" and transferring their consciousness to Quagmire for the Dark Queen to play with.

As an Omen, Lilith is, without a doubt, an ominous Daedra. However, the Lady will disguise herself as an alluring Altmer when she walks among mortals. The face she imitates is that of the Altmer vessel prepared by Vaermina's loyal pawn (more on that later). Vampirism is chosen to present Lilith with new weaknesses while sanctifying her Illusion play.

While her nature is that of a lustful ego-centric sadist, no reckless acts the Horned Lady will commit as she needs to mask her true identity. She will still, however, enjoy her share of playing and tormenting mortals when the moment permits.

The Apprentice Stone offers tremendous Magicka Regen to ease the early game stage. The weakness to hostile magic is a charming addition to further complement Vampirism's weakness toward fire, proving that even with all these disadvantages, very few could lay a finger on our Nightmarish Lady.

Should you desire to see how manipulative Lilith can be, put all leveling points into her Magicka. With no points on her Health,ย a tiny hurl of fireball or a single arrow could already end the Devilish Lady. Not only can you turn enemies against each other's throats, but you may also elevate the defenses and offenses of Lilith's followers and summons.ย All Illusion spells, their progressions, and perks that correspond to the spells efficiency are important.

Vaermina's worshipers are known for their... "absurd" yet lethal alchemical brewery, and Lilith is no different with this sinister practice. Serving not only asย the Lady's dopamine and her enemy's toxin, Alchemy also plays a crucial role in executing Lilith's final duty to blanket the Northern land in endless nightmares.

An underrated mod that deserves more recognition, Master of Oneย differs from the other perks overhaul mods by staying true to the vanilla "taste" while adding many new "consequences" of choosing particular perks. True to its name, the mod offers more rewarding experiences to the character's specialization.
Keeping a similar premise to the vanilla prowess, this combination of skills, while very potent, might result in a rather dull gameplay as Lilith's role in combat is a backline supporter. But of course, you may add other skills such as One-Handed or Archery and even Sneaking should you wish to participate in the battlefield.
However, doing so might turn the combat into a severely easy one. The charming point of Lilith becoming a full-fledged control mage is that she always needs the help of her followers and summons, as her defense and offense are incredibly weak, giving the Devilish Lady a fairer balance.

On Vanilla, the combination of Daedric Helmet, Boots, and Gauntlets with Vampire Armor (especially with Kozakowy's Vampire Armor Replacer for a Vanilla+ modlist) presents a similar silhouette to Vaermina's statue in ESO.ย The quest 'Beyond the Grave'ย allows an easier alternative to obtain the Daedric pieces without relying on the Atronach Forge.
If you prefer a much powerful setup, the combination ofย Dismal Visageย + Vokun, Robes of Conjuration and Illusion, Dark Seducer Gauntlets, Vampire Boots, Warlock's Mark, and Ring of Masser willย cut the cost of Lilith's Illusion and Conjuration spells significantly. The look is also quite fitting for when the Horned Lady infiltrates the College.

With many fantastic modded armor, the Lady's attire could be anything that reflects her Daedric yet alluring nature. 4thUnknown's Daedric Armor, Newmiller's Daedric T5, and Goampuja's Regalia of the Scorned are my top choices.

*These two Master-level spell tomes start appearing in random chests starting from level 32, albeit at a very rare chance. Phinis, however, will only sell them once you hit level 44 (which is a complete BS). I highly reccomend usingย Console Commands or aย Cheat Room mod to spawn the tomes once you reach level 32.

Lilith knows that by herself, she is weak and vulnerable. Thus, she uses her charms to deceive and manipulate others, turning them into the Lady's loyal servants. By exploiting temporary quest followers, this strategy allows vanilla players to gather more than a single companion without using a mod such as NFF.

Before diving further into Lilith's actual purposes in Skyrim, there is a specific setting that plays around the Devilish Lady's existence - a doomed Kalpa cycle (world) where the Last Dragonborn failed his duty as the savior of the land, and Alduin's wrath and hunger are a certainty.
Now, have you ever imagined if Skyrim setting plays like real life? A perma-death scenario on a higher difficulty where we, as the Last Dragonborn, could easily die to the wolves near Riverwood or the Draugrs in Bleakfall Barrows.ย We fail our task while Alduin has returned to rule and enslave mortals once again.ย

What would happen to the rest of Tamriel if the game suddenly ends like that? The answer to this scenario is beautifully portrayed by the mod Shattered - A Post-Apocalyptic Skyrim, which became the basis of this build's concept. No villagers are spared, the cities are in ruins, and only an army of patrolling Draugrs and dragons roam the land.
If you know the world will soon end and your death is unavoidable, would you take the chance when someone offers an option to avoid the doomsday? Or would you stay still and wait for your demise while covering in fear?

In a doomed world where the fear of the World Eater grows stronger each day, the appearance of a saint who promises salvation from demise is bound to lure many souls. That is the role that Lilith embodies, a false savior who promises salvation under the cunning deception of Vaermina's influences.
Lilith's journey begins in Gallows Hall, a Creation Club player home dedicated to Vaermina's worship. The quest follows an interesting story where a pupil of a necromantic master named Naara was trapped inside Gallows Hall and met her demise. We are tasked to follow the master's instructions to solve the puzzles revolving around Vaermina's ritual.

Following this story, I pitched a headcanon where the necromantic master made a pact with Vaermina to offer a sacrificial vessel. Naara - the master's apprentice - served as the unfortunate sacrifice, and through her doing, the gate to Quagmire was opened, allowing Lilith to invade the mortal's realm and take her appearance as a disguise.
Indeed, we will not play as Lilith at the start but as Naara. Be cautious when exploring certain areas or taking early quests (do not do 'Dragon Rising') while making your journey to Gallows Hall, as Furryย spell is Naara's only ace card. Once you safely arrive at the Hall, proceed with the quest, and simply roleplay the scenario above to make Lilith's entrance.

Stepping out of the gate to Quagmire, the hall now serves as Lilith's home while on Nirn, and there are several luxuries the Lady can indulge in. We may useย the Altar of the Revenant to spice up the roleplay where the Devilish Lady offers mortal's souls to her Mother, and in return, Vaermina grants permission for Lilith's siblings - the other Omens - to aid their sister.
To roleplay this, every time you wish to add new Omens to Lilith's arsenal, you need to offer four filled Great/Grand Soul Gems at the Altar and turn them into Black ones. You may then read any fourย Necromantic Grimoire CC spells of your choosing. To unlock another four Omens, you need to repeat the ritual, and the Black Soul Gems provide extra income to repeat the cycle.

Other things to do in the hall are to periodically bask the Horned Lady in Vaermina's blessing and call upon the Wrathman from the Bone Forge. Once Lilith is ready to make her way to the freezing region of Dawnstar, the first task of the Ladyย is to retrieve her Mother's artifact and cleanse the Nightcaller Temple from Mara's impudence.
The Nightmarish Lady realizes that she alone lacks the power, and thus, you may start deceiving some potential targetsย as Lilith's first servant(s). Jenassa and Wrathman make easy shields to protect the Lady from harm. Serana may also join the party once you are ready to infiltrate Fort Dawnguard to find the Volkihar Princess' whereabouts.

Once the deed is done, the Devilish Lady's role as the false savior begins. Alongside collecting souls to call upon the other Omens, Lilith will disguise herself as a proper and trustworthy persona. Becoming the Arch-Mage and the Thanes of many Holds shall grant her beneficial influences, securing her reputation and allowing her to influence the citizens with her charisma.
The Horned Lady may also conquer the Bloodchill Manor and Myrawatch Tower to grant her the luxury of planting her poisonous alchemical ingredients. Another important objective the Lady will doย as her power grows isย to weaken the other Daedric Lords' influences, namely those with an ill relationship with her Mother; Azura, Mora, Peryite, and Bhoethiah.

The Prince of Deceit and Murder does enjoy violence to settle things out. What would happen if her followers die in a "boring" way by Vaermina's serene lullaby? Find Boethiah's followers at her Sacellum and slay them with the Mother's artifact. Do not get tempted by Boethiah's offer to hunt down her former champion.ย
Once many souls have been deceived, the Devilish Lady's final duty draws near. Finally embodying her role as the Saint of Salvation Devil of Deception, Lilith starts mass-producing potent paralysis poisons that can last for hundreds of in-game hours (roleplayed as a much lethal version of the Miasma) by utilizing the Restoration infinite loop and duplicating glitch.
The Horned Lady shall visit every Hold and put every soul she meets to eternal sleep (paralysis state), roleplayed simply as distributing these gifts to her deceived prey, forcing them to "drink" the poisons should they want to avoid the doomsday.ย Very few who realize her wicked intentions can escape from her grasp, and for those who wish to harm her, only death awaits.

The news of the doomsday and the poisons quickly spread outside of Skyrim, carried by the Lady's remaining loyal followers. And soon enough, almost all of Tamriel blanket themselves in endless nightmares.ย The end scene closes the curtain with the Devil and her siblings returning to Quagmire after fulfilling their duties.
Once again sitting on her thorny throne, Lilith witnesses the fruits of her labor as Tamriel now indulges in eternal sleep and nightmares. Behind her stand numerous deceived souls of her once loyal followers now trapped in bird cages, waiting their turn for the Nightmarish Lady to indulge in her twisted and lustful desires.

This build was the direct branch of The Lost Crusaderย when I scrapped the initial idea due to its complexity at that time. The leftover ideas then branched into two separate concepts where I wanted to portray two opposing Christian historical and folklore characters and represented them as Mara's Love and Vaermina's Nightmare.
This build represents Vaermina's vile dreams while Mara's love becomes the Knights of the Benevolence. If you have read The Lost Crusader, you might notice great similarities in the roleplay flow (and yes, I'm just being lazy, lol).
